There was a fatal accident on the Dempster Highway late Friday morning.
The RCMP provided a statement on the incident early this afternoon.
“At 11:24 a.m., Dawson City RCMP responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision approximately at kilometre 200 on the Dempster Highway. The collision involved a motorcycle and a truck.”
Officers responded, one via a helicopter. The motorcyclist, a 58-year-old man from Ontario, was found dead on the scene. The highway was closed for several hours for the investigation.
“Police have determined from their investigation that the two vehicles were driving past each other on the road in opposite directions when the motorcycle tipped over in front of the truck,” the RCMP said.
