An alleged boating accident late Sunday afternoon in Miles Canyon has not been reported to Whitehorse RCMP.
According to a social media posting, a powerboat hit a canoe in the canyon.
In the post, a person asks, “Did anyone get a photo or video of the incident?”
“Please PM me if you saw it.”
Apparently, there were no injuries.
The RCMP told The Yukon Star Monday they had no record of the collision.
The state of water safety at the location was a hot topic of conversation.
One person wrote, “Every time I paddle through there I just expect it to happen. The amount of boats that don’t slow down, despite the blind corners, is horrific. I really hope they get the witnesses they need.”
