A transport truck struck the controversial cycling lanes along Chilkoot Way on Friday.

The truck appeared to be leaving the Walmart store parking lot when it ran over several concrete blocks delineating the active transportation lane.

The City of Whitehorse is aware of the situation.

Matthew Cameron, the head of strategic communications for the city, told the Yukon Star this morning, “As for the incident on Chilkoot Way, we thank the first responders who attended the scene to help address the situation. The intersection was back in working order within hours.”
