Premier Pillai attending meetings in Toronto

Following recent meetings with federal ministers in Ottawa, Premier Ranj Pillai, alongside officials from the Department of Economic Development, is attending the Panache CEO Summit and Collision conference in Toronto. The premier is meeting with Yukon tech startups also participating in the Collison conference, his office said Monday.

These gatherings will focus on a range of topics, including economic development and the tech sector.

Panache has committed to assisting in the development of a technology investor ecosystem in the Yukon, with capacity-building activities, including regular visits and the delivery of seminars and mentorship with investors and entrepreneurs.

The Panache CEO Summit brings together Canadian tech startup entrepreneurs, angel investors and speakers.

Panache has met or coached more than 16 Yukon firms, invested in one Yukon enterprise and participated in the Innovation Commission.

The Collision Conference is one of the biggest tech conferences in the world. It unites more than 40,000 global tech sector leaders, startups and journalists to discuss the future of the technology industry.

“These meetings are part of the Premier’s ongoing efforts to advocate for the interests of Yukon workers and small business,” Pillai’s office said.
