Man assaulted in store’s parking lot, police say

A Whitehorse man is facing charges after an alleged assault Wednesday evening in the parking lot of the Real Canadian Superstore.

At 8:56 p.m., Whitehorse RCMP said Thursday, officers responded “to a complaint of an assault with a weapon in the area of Superstore parking lot. A male victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was provided aid by officers until Emergency Medical Services arrived.”

David Arthur Richard Taylor, 20, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and uttering threats. 

Taylor was held in custody for a court appearance Thursday. Police are still investigating the matter.
