Yukon cabinet minister Nils Clarke is back home in Whitehorse.
Clarke was injured in a fatal accident on Aug. 2 on the Alaska Highway near Marsh Lake. The Riverdale MLA had been receiving hospital treatment in Vancouver.
Michael Prochazka, the deputy minister of Environment, perished in the two-vehicle collision.
According to cabinet communications staff, “minister Nils Clarke has been discharged from hospital in Vancouver and returned home to Whitehorse to continue his recovery. He and his family wish to thank the community for their well wishes during this time.”
Clarke is now at home recovering from his injuries.
Cabinet spokesperson Jordan Owens said there will be no interview opportunities with Clarke, and there is no timeline on when he will return to work. Besides being Environment minister, he’s the minister of Highways and Public Works.
Meanwhile, Whitehorse RCMP say the accident remains under investigation.
No details about the occupant (s) of the second vehicle have been released by police.
