There are few details today on a fuel spill following an accident on the Dempster Highway on Friday.

A Yukon government statement says “our environmental compliance officers are aware of and responding to a spill from an overturned truck that is near km 141 on the Dempster Highway. Officers are working with the company to have the truck removed tomorrow.”

Efforts by The Yukon Star to get more details on the incident were unsuccessful today.

One person on social media wondered if the situation is related to the state of the Yukon side of the highway.

It’s been the source of complaints, including from the Yukon Party, in recent days.
