Keri Rutherford has been honoured with the City of Whitehorse’s inaugural Employee of the Year award.
The city has highlighted Rutherford’s role as the program supervisor with the recreation department. She is a well-known figure at the Canada Games Centre, where she spearheads numerous public recreation programs.
Rutherford is also a key member of the city’s wellness committee, with a strong focus on creating a welcoming and healthy workspace.
The Employee of the Year Award is an initiative by the city to acknowledge those employees who embody the city’s core values of respect, collaboration, appreciation, teamwork and accountability.
Lindsay Schneider, as acting city manager, extended her congratulations to Rutherford, stating, “Her positive energy, passionate vision, and commitment to inclusivity and building relationships, have contributed to a range of high-quality recreation programming and made her a valued colleague.
“Keri continues to promote a healthy, constructive work environment through her ability to listen, encourage others and take initiative to tackle challenges.”
